PESSYP
The annual PESSCL (Physical Education, School Sport and Club Links) survey monitors the impact of PE and Sport provision within all schools in the country.
It is the monitoring tool from which the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) choose the annual Activemark and Sportsmark winners and enables schools to compare themselves nationally in terms of the following criteria:
Physical Education Curriculum Time
Numbers of pupils accessing the target of 2 hours of Physical Education and School Sport in a typical week.
Participation in High Quality Competition both within school and inter-school
The range of sports and physical activities offered to pupils
The number of clubs linked to schools and the numbers of pupils accessing those clubs
The registration of gifted and talented pupils, and
The number of pupils actively involved in volunteering and leadership within and beyond school.
